Wildlife
Immerse yourself in the thriving country life surrounding Exeter Lodge, where an abundance of wildlife awaits.
From majestic birds of prey to nimble hares, graceful deer, and a variety of bird species, the countryside is a haven for nature enthusiasts.
Keep an eye out for buzzards and goshawks soaring through the skies, their wingspan casting shadows on the fields below. Witness the agility of kestrels as they hover in search of their next meal.
In the early morning or late evening, you may catch a glimpse of hares darting across the fields or deer grazing peacefully, adding a touch of elegance to the landscape.
Listen closely and you’ll hear the distinctive calls of pheasants, their vibrant plumage adding a splash of color to the countryside.
The diversity of bird species is also a highlight of the area, with woodpeckers tapping away on tree trunks, owls hooting in the night, and finches adding their melodious songs to the chorus of nature.
Accommodation
Tastefully renovated the lodge provides sumptuous, cosy accommodation with a super king four poster bed and traditional log burner. The property sleeps six within two spacious bedrooms. We do allow children
Within Exeter Lodge there is a traditional lounge which has a stunning view out through the double doors.
A wall mounted smart tv and a portable desk is available should you need to bring work with you.
Off the lounge there’s a well-equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, kettle and toaster.
The kitchen leads to an elegant indoor dining area. Where a georgian polished brass chandelier and side lights help provide an atmospheric setting for dinner.
There are two separate toilets, traditional roll top bath to soak the stress away and a separate shower. A utility room houses a washing machine, drying rack and ironing facilities.
Unwind, relax and relieve tension in the six seater hot tub. Privately tucked away beside Exeter Lodge and perfectly located to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and passing wildlife. By night star gaze and listen to the resident owls calling to one another.
We allow 12 year olds and above to use the hot tub (price on request).
